About Me

My name is John Crouch and a few years ago I finally decided to quit smoking. I’d had enough of the physical, mental, and financial stresses that come with being a smoker. And after thirty years, it was definitely time.

Something I’ve wanted to do since I quit smoking is to tell my story and build a resource for people that may find themselves in a similar position of wanting to quit. I’ve wanted to share how I did it, the things I learned, the things that motivated me, and how I continue to strive to live better without cigarettes. LivinLinks is my way of doing that.

Hopefully, as this site grows it can answer some of the questions you may have or give you just a little extra motivation.

There are a few categories that hope to add to the site, the first of corse is quitting smoking.

I’ve not smoked since the last day of February 2012. This has been a huge triumph for me and is something I am extremely proud of.

Learning to cook.

Eating better is something I know I should be doing and learning to cook is something I’ve always wanted to do.

Exercise.

This was a such a big part of my success of quitting smoking. My intention is to bring the level of my exercise routine back up to what it was the first year of quitting. I seemed to have slacked off a bit.

Gadgets and gear.

I’d like to share the things I find useful or would like to try, whether that be stuff for the home, the gym, my bike, or whatever.

Travel.

I put this last because although it’s something I have always wanted to do, I just don’t know when or if I will travel enough to make it part of this site. Currently, I work full time and stay busy with the typical family/life routines that we all experience.

What have you got to say?

Finding people that share your enthusiasm can make a huge difference in your success. As any smoker knows, an ex-smoker can be worse than a non-smoker when it comes to talking about quitting. It can be taken as preaching when the smokers around you are not ready or interested in quitting. We can become very annoying when we are so proud of our accomplishments and no one wants to hear about it.

So if you have a story to share, I’d like to hear from you.

We are all different in how we approach the difficulties of quitting smoking, getting more exercise, or even learning to eat better. I want to hear about your accomplishments. I want to hear about the little things you’ve done to make those things happen in your life.

Send me an email on the Contact Page. Emails from that page go directly to my personal email address and I read every email I get. So introduce yourself, tell me your story, or just say hi.
